Scouts - 1st Subiaco Scouts

Scouts

The Subiaco Scout section is for boys and girls aged 10 to 14 years who want to participate in fun activities and learn new skills. Our group is “hands-on” comprising members that have many interests but with outdoor adventure as their common ground.

The Scout Unit is run by a Unit Council made up of older Scouts with the encouragement and support of our talented, experienced, and well-trained Leaders.

Generally, activities are organised by the Patrol Leaders and are designed to cover the four Challenge areas of the Scouts Australia programme – outdoors, creative, personal growth and community. Scouts can also complete and earn badges for activities in their own special interest areas.

We aim to encourage Scouts to develop their skills and confidence to the best of their ability through learning by doing and by learning to work together in groups. Activities may be done within the Patrols or as a whole group.

A typical term could include activities such as navigation and pioneering, and of course, our legendary Masterchef cooking challenge!

Getting out in the open air is also important to us and we try to include a camp and/or hike each term targeting different levels of ability from beginners through to the more advanced.

You may have already been a Cub Scout, but it doesn’t matter if you haven’t, you’re all welcome!

Meeting Time

Scouts meet at the Scout Hall in Rokeby Road on Friday evenings from 7:30pm to 9:30pm during the school term.
